What that means for a historical Total War game remains to be seen, especially since fantastical elements have traditionally been only seen in the Total War: Warhammer series. Personally I hope for more of a return to the roots of the series but given the more fantastical direction of 3K and Troy, something along those lines is equally as likely if not moreso, sadly. It would be a great compromise between Medieval style combat and early gunpowder tactics. Rather uniquely for real-time strategy games, flanking maneuvers and formations factor heavily into gameplay. The area that the game would comprise could be Dark Lands, Nippon, Ogre Kingdoms, Grand Cathay, and the Hinterlands of Khuresh. Heresy!
